It is exciting when dolphins interact with humans - but the choice should always be with the dolphins.  Dolphins are wild animals and they have their own agenda.  They need to feed, socialise with each other, take care of their young and travel to other feeding or breeding areas. 

If you witness acts of harassment which are clearly irresponsible, inform your local Police Wildlife Liaison Officer and take as many details as possible including photos and boat identification. Police Inspector Nevin Hunter at Tiverton (tel:01884 232702) is the co-ordinator for this area. The RSPCA also takes reports of harassment and is compiling a nationwide database of such incidents (tel: 08705 555999 - 24hrs).
