These graphic images are taken from some of the recent victims which have been found washed up on the beaches of South Devon, mostly within the last eighteen months. They represent a very small proportion of the actual losses as it is estimated that only 1% end up coming ashore. The remaining 99% eventually sink and rot away on the sea floor. Increasing numbers of skeletal remains are being dredged up in the nets of smaller local trawlers.
